Ever since I can remember, I have loved animals! For over 5 years I was involved in foster and rescue and would often take some of the most ill dogs and cats that needed extra care. During that time I consulted with a holistic veterinarian and an owner of a natural pet food store. I learned quite a lot about nutrition, supplements and various health conditions that affect our companion animals today. I have continued to follow various holistic veterinarians and pet food advocates and am always happy to share my knowledge with you. My "heart dog" Brandi, was with me during my foster years and as her health started to decline (congestive heart failure, liver disease, arthritis) I immersed myself in the world of natural pet health. I 100% believe the changes I made in her diet, the supplements I added, the acupuncture/aquapuncture, chinese herbs, etc. played a significant factor in her longevity. We celebrated her 18th... 19th... and 20th birthdays! I'll never forget my regular vet's surprise at her last lab work... "Whatever you are doing, keep it up because her labs look better than most dogs half her age!". I saw the results and knew that I wanted to continue to help other animals live longer lives and educate pet owners as well.
It is sad and also shocking news to hear that dogs are living shorter lives today. A large study was recently conducted in Colorado on 3,000 Golden Retrievers (well known to have high incidences of cancer) and here are some of the conclusions:
- 10% of cancer cases are genetic
- 90% are the results of lifestyle and environmental influences
Quite surprising, even to the researchers. It is safe to assume that a large part of the 90% is diet, perhaps 50-60%. In fact, the Epigenix Foundation created the KetoPet Sanctuary in 2014, which has proven how important diet is to pet health, especially in canines with terminal cancer. They are slowing down and even reversing (yes, you heard me, REVERSING cancer!) with dietary changes, exercise and oxygen therapy.
The oldest living dogs were farm dogs, who regularly drank raw milk, got lots of exercise and were fed a good amount of fresh foods.
Since learning Pranic Healing techniques in 2011, I have used this energy healing modality in my own pets and many others. Cats, dogs, horses and birds! You'd be amazed at how open animals are to receiving healing, even using crystals. If you have a pet suffering with a medical or behavioral issue and would like to try a holistic approach, I offer both in person and distant healing sessions. I also offer nutritional consultations, which may include food recommendations, supplements, herbs, essential oils and tips for you as well!
Here are some photos of my pets receiving healing (noticed how relaxed they are):
